Inter-Schools Collaboration and Information Management System are technologies that support Knowledge Management (KM) in organizations, specifically - knowledge generation, codification, and transfer. The use of KM in organizations is now widely recognized and expected to be an important part of organizational practices. The study focused on establishing an Inter-Schools Collaboration and Information Management System that captures various aspects of school operations for Kisii county secondary schools. Devolution is a new phenomenon in Kenya and as such much of the county information on schools leave alone schools information has not been properly documented or centralized in the county. Currently there is no centralized Inter-Schools Collaboration and Information Management System in place targeting secondary schools in the county. Few secondary schools in the county have developed organizational websites and documentations that contain information about their operations though not up to date and don't encompass all the spheres of the school administration. Many secondary schools have collected a lot of information on paper that is accessible to only those schools. The targeted survey was to determine the information needs of an Inter-Schools Collaboration and Information Management System in secondary schools at the county level and implement a centralized Inter-Schools Collaboration and Information Management System that can tackle various school aspects at school level in education, sports, sponsorships and fees. The system is accessible to school administrators, students, donors, sponsors, parents and other stockholders for easy, quick and secure reference to school information. The system is to be hosted at the county's website for all to access. The researcher followed the waterfall Systems Development Life Cycle process to develop the system as well as probability sampling method to reach the targeted sample as each element of the large population had equal probability of being selected into the sample. He further used questionnaires to collect data from the respondents.en_US
