    • The flying food project 

      Ayieko, Monica A. (The Project is located in both Kenya and Uganda and implemented in collaboration with eleven (11) partners, 2015)
      It aims at promoting the consumption of cricket. Through rearing of cricket in the laboratory as a mini livestock alongside other domesticated animals

    • Insect Research in Action: The GREEN Insect. 

      Ayieko, Monica A. (Implemented by JOOUST in collaboration with the Univ. of Copenhagen and JKUAT, 2014)
      The project aims at demonstrating the use of insects as alternative sources of protein in an environment where these sources are scarce, hence a contribution to food availability/security.

    • Early warning systems for improved human health and resilience to climate–sensitive vector borne diseases. 

      Estambale, Benson B. (The project is implemented by JOOUST in collaboration with the University of Nairobi (UON), 2014)
      The aim of the study to determine the potential effect on changes in climate on Vector borne diseases by helping understand the role played by temperature, precipitation, humidity and landscape cover.

    • Retention and sustainability of community health workers in improving community case management of malaria 

      Afrane., Yaw Asare (Implemented by JOOUST and the health facilities in Kisumu and Siaya Counties, 2014-03)
      The objective of the project is to identify ways that could enhance the retention and sustainability of community health workers in the improvement of community case management of malaria.
