dc.description.abstract | Internet is network of remotely or physically connected computers or computer devices that are able to interact. Numerous activities take place on the internet. The processes of decision making on what activities are to be implemented or not implemented on the internet depending on their impact on the immediate environment constitutes the internet governance. Hence Internet governance refers to processes that are designed to ensure accountability, transparency, responsiveness, legality, morality, stability, equity and inclusiveness, empowerment, and broad-based participation in the use of internet. Internet spurs digital transformation in unlocking the potential digital government into data-driven smart government capable of driving policies and services of public interest and public value (https://doi.org/10.1016/j.giq.2018.09.007). This paper analyses the key technical and public policy issues (rules, procedures and user expectations) that are considered relevant to users of internet.
