dc.description.abstractThe focus of this research was to establish effect of supply chain integration on performance of Kenya Medical Research Institute in Kisumu county who have experienced compromised research and results due challenges on supply chain management in place. The statement of the problem indicates there is a weakness and contradictions of understanding of supply chain management by some scholars which lead to the specific objectives ; to establish the effect of customer relation on performance of Kemri: to determine the effect of top management support on performance of Krmri; to assess the effect of information sharing on performance of Kemri; This study focused on the global regional and local perspective of supplier integration in both an intensive and extensive on Supply Chain Integration and to evaluate the effect of organization structure on performance ofKemri. The study comprised of theories and empirical work on supplier integration specifically, Transaction cost economics theory, Resource based view theory and the organizational theory guided the study. The target population was 500 staff working in KEMRI Kisumu office and stratified and simple random sampling was used to pick a sample of 222 respondents. The data was collected from primary sources and a semi-structured self-administered questionnaire was used to collect primary data. Data was analyzed using both descriptive and inferential statistics such as mean, standard deviation, Pearson's correlation analysis and regression analysis. Data was presented using tables and graphs. The study findings showed that customer relations had a positive and significant influence (P = 0.113; p<0.005), information sharing had a positive and significant influence on performance (P = 0.178; p<0.025), top management support had a positive and significant influence on performance on performance (~ = 0.201; p<0.000) and organization structure had a positive and significant influence on performance (P = 0.184; p<0.006) of performance ofKEMRI. The study concluded that customer relations, information sharing, top management support and organization structure have a significant effect on performance. The study recommends that the management in KEMRI should be committed in implementing SCI in order to enable the organization to focus on performance and improve services. Based on the study findings, KEMRI should have a clear organization structure that is understood by every employee to ensure improved performance and should to pay greater attention to the information sharing and involve various departments to improve on performance and customer relations should be enhanced and continuously evaluated to ensure that KEMRI attains symbiotic relationship to improve on performance in terms of customer satisfaction, Organization growth and sustainability. This study can be significant to KEMRI, researchers, administrators, and learning institutions at large.en_US
