SECTION A 

Q1). With examples from the Gikuyu community of Kenya, discuss the notion that Africans had 
administrative systems before colonialism. 

Q2) Assess the factors that aided and contributed to the colonization of the African Continent by 
the European powers 

Q3) Either 
a) Explain the internal and external factors that led to the rise of African nationalist movements 

OR 

b) Explain the key factors that contributed to the rapid decolonization process in Africa in the 
1960s

Q4) Provide a justification for a one-party system in the immediate post-independent Africa by 
the African leaders. 

Q5) With examples, examine analyze the key factors that have contributed to the militarization 
of politics in Africa 

Q6) Critically analyze the influence that pressure groups haves had on the politics of African 
states.
